Wall drawing, pencil.

Site specific work at the former thermal center at Nairs, Switzerland.

Located in the lower part of the valley of Engadine, Nairs comes from the local dialect and means black, dark - in winter the sun light does not reach this part of the valley. The walls inside the building were once covered with tiles to half height, now covered with white wallpaper. On the upper part of the wall I made a pencil drawing, using the basic method for creating shadow. The separation between the wall surfaces draws a horizon line on the perimeter of the space and suggests a winter landscape, composed of darkness and snow.
